but bwc, it would have to be a pretty big coincidence if the "cycle" you speak of runs only every so many years, but only once prior? is there really any proof of an ice age before the dinosaurs and before the "ice age" ? if so, then i may think it is a cycle if not, i still dunno

there is no actualy proof its anything other than part of a normal cycle

the same type of cycle that was responsible for the end of the last ice age.....which oddly enough none of gores sheeple have an answer for

Using the same data this group (can't come up with a name)used to find some planets, this group figures the earths orbit is not perfect and is a wobble, that is changed from time to time. Closer to the sun would account for the warming, however when the figures were applied to the earth it should have been in a cooling cycle. The orbit could be the piece you are missing on the warming/cooling trends. The show was on the history channel the other day, or I'd link it, that isn't word for word, but the general idea of the story line.

Here's a novel idea....some of you guys are running PVFan into the ground wanting proof that global warming exists. So, why don't you guys do us all a favor and show us some definitive proof that is doesn't.

Yeah...it's not like Gore "invented" global warming...I can remember learning about it in elementary classrooms in BSG in the early 80's...and if it got that far, it wasn't an obscure idea. I don't care what a person does for a living...to deny global warming is just asinine.

Not trying to get into this argument to much but so far no one has mentioned the fact that Sun Spot activity affects our temps on earth (and Mars whos temps have went up as well)

I have also yet to see any data showing that storm are getting stronger (more distructive yes since a greater number of people live in hurrricane prone areas now)

IMHO People DO need to try to do right by the planet and there is nothing wrong will building cleaner burning powerplants or tring to use more solor power BUT distorting the facts to force the issue is WRONG.

im well aware of what you are talking about which is why the cycle hasnt been consistant over the years but has shown variations in numbers over time

So what is your point? It snowed, the world could warm 15 degrees and it would still snow. The climate is changing, we have an influnce on it, you are stuck with it. You believe the scientists when you talk about historic cycles, but doubt the same people when they say the earth is warming? I see a pattern here, bet you want the middle class taxpayer to bail-out the housing/lending industry, too.
